The academy’s second Redbird device to kick-start rotor-wing training program in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Las Vegas, NV (February 27, 2018) – At HAI HELI-EXPO 2018, Redbird Flight Simulations has announced the first international sale of its VTO helicopter training device. Genesa Flight Academy, one of Indonesia’s leading training providers, will take delivery of the device in June 2018.
The VTO is the second Redbird device to be integrated into Genesa’s flight training curriculum. For fixed-wing proficiency training, the academy acquired a Redbird MCX in 2014.
Aviation-themed, youth outreach initiative enhances program with Redbird FMX simulator.
Austin, TX (January 8, 2018) – Supporting the growth of its innovative, aviation-based, youth outreach program, the Bob Hoover Academy (BHA) and Redbird Flight Simulations have partnered to integrate flight simulation into its curriculum.
Based in Salinas, California, which retains one of the state’s highest, youth homicide rates, BHA utilizes flight training to engage local, at-risk teens in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Since 2017, and for several years prior under the moniker, Every Kid Can Fly, the academy has executed a full ground training curriculum and flight training program with a single instructor and airplane. With a full-motion, Redbird FMX simulator in its facility, BHA now enables students to hone their skills even when they are apart from their aircraft and instructor.
The simulator-based maneuvers training supplement is designed to help student pilots achieve their goals faster.
Oshkosh, WI (July 24, 2017) - This week at AirVenture, Redbird Flight Simulations is proud to release its much-awaited Guided Independent Flight Training software for Private Pilots, better known as GIFT. GIFT is a simulator-based training supplement that allows a student pilot to learn, practice, and get feedback on every maneuver required for a pilot certificate, at their own pace. This cutting-edge technology is meant to help pilots achieve their goals faster and for less money.
The full motion Advanced Aviation Training Device can now be used to credit flight time towards certificate requirements.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the Redbird VTO full motion helicopter trainer as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD). This approval will allow pilots to credit a portion of the time spent training in the VTO towards the aeronautical experience requirements for the pilot certificate or rating being sought. For example, private pilot applicants will be able to credit up to 7.5 hours and instrument applicants may credit up to 20 hours of training time in the helicopter trainer.
Registration is open for students and teachers to participate in the Redbird STEM Lab.
Redbird Flight Simulations will host a STEM Lab in its booth during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017. The Redbird STEM Lab will integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) into aviation themed classes while incorporating Jay Velocity flight simulators into the lessons. One goal of the STEM Lab is to highlight how impactful, hands-on training makes for a fun learning environment.
Classes will run Monday, July 24 to Saturday, July 29 from
