Simulator and In-Aircraft Training Now Available at Both SDL and VRB Training Centers
Legacy Flight Training is proud to announce the delivery of their much anticipated full-motion Piper Meridian flight simulator at their Scottsdale, Arizona training center.
Fly-In rescheduled for June 6. Proceeds will be donated to Hays County Salvation Army.
Due to the recent hardships faced by the local community after the Hays County flooding during Memorial Day weekend, Redbird Skyport has announced that it will postpone the Bluebonnet Fly-In at San Marcos Airport. The fly-in, originally scheduled for this Saturday, May 30, will now take place on June 6 from 10 AM – 4 PM. To support those affected by this tragic event, all proceeds from the fly in will be donated to the Hays County Salvation Army.
Skyport Continues to Climb in the Fltplan.com Pilots’ Choice Awards
Redbird Skyport is proud to announce that it has earned the fourth place spot in the Top 50 U.S. FBOs category in the 2015 Pilots’ Choice Awards. The awards, conducted by FltPlan.com to recognize great service, were open to a group of over 152,000 active pilots and received a record number of votes this year. Located in San Marcos, TX, Redbird Skyport finished just behind three larger metropolitan FBOs operating at Teterboro Airport, Dallas Love Field, and Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
Three student pilots go from zero time to ready to solo in one week.
Three aviation rookies, one week, three solo flights—that’s the idea behind “One Week Ready to Solo”, a joint project designed to demonstrate that learning to fly is more achievable than most people think.
The project, which is a collaborative effort of Redbird Flight Simulations, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Jeppesen, Sporty’s, Garmin, LightSpeed, and Sun ‘n Fun, will take three individuals with no aviation experience, put them through six days of intensive training, and have them ready to conduct a supervised solo flight at the end of one week.
