The company will play a key role in advancing the utilization of modern training technologies under Part 141.
At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Redbird Flight (Redbird) today announced its membership in the National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA), an association working to unify, promote, and protect the future of America’s flight training industry, in part through its role as the FAA-selected industry partner to coordinate efforts in the modernization of 14 CFR 141. As part of the company’s increased involvement with the association, Redbird COO Josh Harnagel has been appointed to the NFTA Board of Directors, where he serves as a member of the Subcommittee on Simulation, FTDs, and Modern Training Technologies, which is tasked with providing industry comments to the FAA for the Part 141 rewrite.
EAA and Redbird have joined forces to offer sessions tailored to every experience level and schedule.
Each July, the aviation world descends on Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) annual fly-in convention, AirVenture. Last year alone, more than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman Regional Airport, and approximately 686,000 people representing nearly 100 countries attended the event. In partnership with EAA, Redbird Flight (Redbird) is expanding training options at the Pilot Proficiency Center (PPC) this year to accommodate the diverse interests, experience levels, and schedules of the growing group of pilots attending the show.
Charlie Gregoire becomes the company’s second CEO; Todd Willinger is appointed executive chairman; Josh Harnagel is named COO.
Redbird Flight (Redbird) today announced the appointment of Charlie Gregoire as its chief executive officer, effective immediately. Gregoire, previously chief operating officer, succeeds Todd Willinger, who becomes executive chairman after serving as the company’s CEO since its inception. Following a thorough succession plan, Willinger will remain in an advisory role for an interim period to facilitate a smooth transition.

At the 2025 Redbird Migration Flight Training Conference, Redbird today announced Pete Bunce, retiring President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Bunce brings decades of global aviation and aerospace leadership experience to the role and has a long track record of advancing general aviation innovation.
Today, at the 2025 Redbird Migration Flight Training Conference, Redbird Flight (Redbird) released the results of its fifth-annual State of Flight Training Survey, providing key findings and in-depth analysis on the health of the flight training industry. The report is based on data collected from over 1,400 industry stakeholders — including flight training organization owners and managers, flight instructors, designated pilot examiners, active and prospective students, and certificated pilots — and highlights emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of flight training.
